The City has a small controlled-climate animal
shelter, a truck, and an Animal Control Officer who also has other duties.
Animal Control has responsibilities for mosquito control as well as
conventional animal control duties.

Control, a division of the Police Department, responds to domestic animals,
wildlife, and livestock issues that arise throughout the city.
Including
rabies awareness, investigates animal bites, lost pets, animals at large,
adoptions, housing/caring for stray animals, public awareness on West
Nile Virus along with treatment of stagnant water in the City, and so
much more.
