Dismissals:

Dismissal of Expired Violations – should be handled in person as fees may be required:

• Expired Drivers License:  proof of renewal within 20 working days must be presented to the Court by the first appearance date on the citation. 
• Expired Motor Vehicle Inspection:  expiration period must be sixty days or less; must correct violation within 20 working days of citation or before first appearance date.
• Expired Motor Vehicle Registration:  must renew within twenty working days of citation or first appearance date. 
• Fail to Display Driver’s License: Must show proof of valid driver’s license to Court by first appearance date.
• Fail to Report Change of Address or Name: Must remedy within 20 working days after date of offense and show proof to Court.
• Driver’s license restriction violation: Must remedy before first appearance date and show proof to Court.
• Operate motor vehicle without license plates or with one plate: Must remedy before first appearance date and show proof to Court.

Dismissal of Defective Equipment Offenses – should be handled in person as fees may be required:

• Must show proof of repair to Court by first appearance date - cannot be dismissed if violation was for a commercial motor vehicle - fees may apply.

Dismissal of No Insurance or Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility:

• Must present verifiable proof of insurance for the date of the citation to the Court by the appearance date on citation.  Insurance will be verified by Court.

If you fail to make your appearance either in person or by mail on or before the appearance date on the citation, fines will increase and a warrant of arrest may be issued and other charges may be filed.
