RE:  Civilian Employee of the Year for 2009

I want to congratulate you on being named Civilian Employee of the Year for 2009. The process for selection of the civilian to be given this designation includes a nomination period from peers and a review of performance and other job related factors by the command staff, Lt. Barber and me.

Due to personnel changes during 2009, Ms. Kim Parker had to dedicate a considerable amount of her time to animal control issues. During this time, you stepped up and took on more of the dispatch center manger chores. You can be counted on to perform your assigned duties with little or no supervision and you consistently exhibit a positive attitude about your work as well as displaying an excellent work ethic. Clearly, as one of the men and women working in the MPD as a civilian in support of the sworn officers and firefighters, you have repeatedly displayed a professional and caring attitude.

One of the greatest awards a person can receive is the admiration and appreciation from peers. In this case, your peers spoke and the command staff concurred with their selection of you as Civilian Employee of the Year.

Congratulations! And, keep up the great work and attitude.

By Order of the Chief of Police
