Traffic Unit

The traffic unit is manned by officers specializing in the area of traffic law enforcement and accident investigation.  Currently the unit consists of two motorcycle officers and one traffic investigator.  The Murphy Police Department has a policy of zero tolerance regarding speeding in school zones and residential neighborhoods.  Another focus area is moving traffic violations in major thoroughfares.
