Boards & Commissions

Establishment & Importance

The city's boards are established at the desire of the City Council to carry out the functions and obligations of the city by making recommendations to council. Each board or commission plays a very important role in the development of our city.

  • Appointees shall serve at the pleasure of the City Council and may be removed at the discretion of the City Council, except for the members of the Board of Adjustment, who may be removed only for cause
  • Except as otherwise provided in this charter, members of any board, commission, or committee shall serve without compensation but may be reimbursed for actual expenses as approved by council
  • Individuals who are qualified voters in the city may be appointed by the council to serve on one or more boards, commissions, or committees
