Murphy Council accepts resignation of City Manager

Fire Chief named Acting City Manager

MURPHY (August 14, 2023) The Murphy City Council has accepted the resignation of City Manager Mike Castro effective Friday, Aug. 11, 2023.

                Following the approval of a transition agreement, the Council appointed Fire Chief Del Albright as Acting City Manager until an Interim City Manager is selected.

                Regarding the transition, Mayor Scott Bradley stated, “We appreciate Dr. Castro’s seven years of service to the City and his oversight to ensure that Murphy remains a vibrant and welcoming community.”

                The Council will discuss the search process for the City’s next City Manager at a future regular meeting.
